The Tracer Air™ LTTA-80 is an 80GHz FMCW non-contact radar level transmitter designed to measure liquids, normal solids, and long-range solids across a wide range of industrial applications. It uses a narrow microwave beam to detect surface level without any physical contact with the measured medium, making it suitable for aggressive, corrosive, high-temperature, and dusty environments. Pre-calibrated at the FLO-CORP facility, it is ready to install straight out of the box with HART or Modbus communication options.

Precision Level Measurement. No Contact Required.

The Tracer Air™ LTTA-80 is an 80GHz FMCW radar level transmitter that measures material level without any physical contact with the process medium. Operating at 76 to 81GHz with a 5GHz bandwidth, it emits a narrow microwave beam that travels down to the material surface, reflects back to the antenna, and converts the time-of-flight signal into an accurate level reading. The result is a highly reliable, maintenance-free measurement solution that works across liquids, normal solids, and long-range solid applications without the wear and fouling issues associated with contact-based sensing technologies.

The 80GHz frequency gives the LTTA-80 a meaningful advantage over lower-frequency radar devices. The shorter wavelength produces a tighter beam angle of 3° or 8° depending on configuration, which reduces interference from vessel walls, internal structures, and agitators. It also yields better reflection performance on sloped solid surfaces, meaning the antenna does not need to be aimed toward the material's angle of repose in most installations. A high signal-to-noise ratio ensures accurate readings even in challenging conditions such as vapour, steam, foam, dust, and fluctuating temperatures.

Three measurement range and application configurations are available. The 01 configuration covers normal solids from 1 to 200 ft, the 02 configuration covers liquids from 0.25 to 98 ft, and the 03 configuration handles long-range solids from 2.6 to 393 ft. Process temperature options span from standard -40°F to 185°F all the way up to high-temperature configurations rated to 1,832°F, and process pressure ratings of 290 or 435 PSIG are available. This flexibility makes the LTTA-80 suitable for an exceptionally wide range of vessel types and process conditions.

Communication is available via HART 2-wire or RS-485 Modbus 4-wire, and signal output is 4-20mA. Configuration can be carried out locally using four onboard push buttons and a 128x64 dot matrix LCD display, remotely via optional PC software, or wirelessly via Bluetooth. The unit carries an intrinsically safe rating of Exia IIC T6 Ga, making it suitable for use in hazardous locations. Antenna options include stainless steel with PTFE lens in a 1.5-inch configuration and a PTFE 3-inch antenna for the narrower 3° beam angle variant.

Typical applications include aggressive or corrosive liquid level monitoring, bulk solid storage vessels, process reactors, small tanks and totes, and any measurement scenario where dust, vapour, foam, or extreme temperatures make conventional sensing impractical. The LTTA-80 is pre-calibrated at the FLO-CORP facility before shipment, reducing installation time and the risk of setup errors in the field.
