The Tracer 1000 3G™ is a guided wave radar level transmitter that accurately measures the level of liquids, solids, powders, sludge, and bulk materials in tanks and vessels up to 60 feet 8 inches deep. It works by sending a radar pulse down a probe and measuring the time it takes to reflect back, converting that into a precise level reading. Reliable Level Measurement. Any Material.

The Tracer 1000 3G™ is FLO-CORP's guided wave radar (GWR) level transmitter, designed for continuous, accurate level measurement across a wide range of liquid and solid materials. Using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology, it sends low-energy electromagnetic pulses down a probe submerged in the material being measured. When those pulses hit the surface, they reflect back up to the transmitter, and the time difference between the sent and received signals is converted into a precise level reading. The result is reliable, continuous measurement that holds up where other technologies fall short.

Unlike ultrasonic transmitters, which depend on clean air paths and calm, reflective surfaces, the Tracer 1000 3G™ is not affected by foam, dust, vapor, temperature swings, pressure changes, or variations in the material's properties. It can measure materials with dielectric constants as low as 1.5, which means it handles challenging media like plastic pellets, powders, and low-dielectric liquids that other technologies struggle with. The probe guides the radar signal directly to the material surface, bypassing the air space entirely and eliminating interference from the environment above the material.

Measurement range extends up to 60 feet 8 inches (18.5 meters), with a very short minimum range of just 6 inches (150 mm), making it well suited for both large storage vessels and smaller process tanks. The unit outputs a standard 4-20mA analog signal over a 2-wire loop, with full HART communication support for integration with existing control systems. Configuration can be completed directly on the device using the four-button LCD interface, through DCSOFT PC software, or via a HART handheld programmer, giving site technicians multiple options depending on what they have available.

The Tracer 1000 3G™ carries IECEx intrinsic safety certification for use in hazardous gas and dust environments, and is rated IP66 and NEMA 4X for protection against water ingress and corrosion. It is suitable for installation across a wide range of industries including chemical and petrochemical processing, oil and gas, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, minerals and mining, pulp and paper, plastics, and wastewater treatment. The optional tank fastening kit (LTFKIT) includes two eye bolts and an adjustable rigging lock for securing the flexible cable probe at the base of the vessel.
