Open Channel Flow Monitoring Made Simple
The ChannelFlo™ UOCM is FLO-CORP's complete ultrasonic open channel flow measurement system, designed for accurate, continuous flow monitoring in streams, sewers, rivers, V-notch weirs, Parshall flumes, and other open channel applications. Unlike closed-pipe flow meters, open channel measurement requires a reliable level sensor paired with intelligent monitoring equipment. The UOCM brings all three components together in a single, factory-calibrated package, with the sensor, monitor, and software pre-configured for your specific application before leaving the factory.
At the core of the system is the Ranger Plus™ ultrasonic level transmitter, available in two range options covering 2.5 inches to 120 inches or 12 inches to 420 inches. The sensor is non-contacting, meaning it never touches the water or effluent being measured, which protects it from corrosion and build-up and extends the working life of the system. It features temperature compensation for improved accuracy, adjustable signal strength, and a short 4 inch deadband for greater usable measurement range. Protection is rated NEMA 4X, NEMA 6P, and IP68.
The DigaCom 2000™ process monitor provides local display via a bright 6-digit red LED readout and communicates via RS-485 Modbus and Ethernet. It accepts a 4-20mA input from the level sensor, provides an isolated scalable 4-20mA repeat output, and supports up to four relay outputs for alarm or control functions. The included DigaLink™ 3.0 software connects to the monitor over Ethernet or RS-485 and provides real-time remote monitoring, email alerts, data logging, and display configuration from any PC. For applications requiring pump control, the optional eXmod™ relay expansion module connects via RS-485 and adds a 10A AC/DC rated relay output.
The UOCM is available with the LTRP-10 or LTRP-35 level sensor, AC or DC supply voltage, with or without Ethernet communication, and with or without the eXmod pump control module, all housed in a NEMA 4X rated enclosure. Typical applications include wastewater treatment plants, effluent flows, gravity fed sewer lines, storm water monitoring, and clarifier effluent measurement. Because each system is pre-calibrated at the factory for the customer's specific channel geometry and flow equation, field installation is straightforward and commissioning time is significantly reduced.
